Ray
Ackerman was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Oklahoma
City after serving as a carrier fighter pilot in the United States
Navy. He spent a total of 35 years active and reserve duty in the
United States Naval Reserve, rising to the rank of Rear Admiral.
Mr. Ackerman helped build his business from $250,000 in billings in
1954 to billings of $225 million in 1999.
Ackerman McQueen is ranked in the
top 2% in size of all advertising agencies in the U.S.
Ray has a long history of public service in Oklahoma city and
strongly promotes the concept of "pro bono" work for the emerging
leaders of today and tomorrow. Mr. Ackerman has been recognized many
times over the years for his contribution to the community, his
industry and business in general. His recent recognition at the
Academy of Achievement is one more acknowledgment of a man that
continues to contribute, both professionally and personally.
