Twenty-eight years ago, with a $600 loan and a talent for assembling and packaging miniature frames, David and Barbara Green co-founded Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. in their family’s garage. While managing a local TG & Y variety store, David realized specialty suppliers and specialized employees better served his rocketing pet department sales. David’s vision, coupled with a winning service formula and a lot of hard work, brought him and Barbara to the forefront of retail hobby and crafts sales. Today Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. is the nation’s second largest arts and crafts retailer, with operations in 19 states, 170 retail outlets, approximately 9,000 employees and annual sales over $540 million.
