Tom Claussen

A graduate in
Law from the University of Minnesota, Tom Clausen entered Bank of
America’s executive training program and by 1970 was elected
President and Chief Executive Officer of BankAmerica Corporation.
During the Reagan administration he served as President of the World
Bank, and then returned to BankAmerica before retiring in 1990. He
has visited 119 nations in his banking and public service career.
He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of the
Harvard Business School and holds seven honorary degrees. He is a
holder of the University of California - San Francisco Medal and the
Carthage Alumnus Flame. The Carthage Center for World Business
bears his name. Mr. Clausen continues to serve on several boards,
committees and foundations. He is a member of the Korea – U.S.
Wiseman Council, an advisor to the Japan Foundations’s Center for
Global Partnership, and is the recipient of awards from the
governments of Italy, Japan, Senegal, South Korea, Spain, and
Venezuela. He holds honorary memberships in The Bankers of the
Roundtable and The Business Council.
