Angélica Fuentes Téllez

Angélica Fuentes Téllez is one of the most influential women in
Mexico and Latin America due to her proven track record as a
businesswoman, her influence in development of public policies, and
her philanthropic commitment with the community, women from Latin
America and the arts.
“I compete against myself every day (…) I don’t compete against
other women or men, I just try to be better today than I was
yesterday”, she said. This has positioned her in such leading place.
Nowadays, Angélica is Shareholder and CEO of Grupo Omnilife-Chivas
ranked among the 200 most successful companies in Mexico. This is a
highly diversified group of companies, which is present in 19
countries. It offers products for health, entertainment and beauty,
from top brands: Omnilife, Angelíssima, “Chivas Rayadas del
Guadalajara” and Chivas USA.
For 20 years, she served as CEO of Corporativo Grupo Imperial, one
of the leading energy companies in México, where she is shareholder
as well. Her outstanding work put her on the head of the Mexican
energy sector, as President of the Mexican Natural Gas Association
and as Business Leader at the APEC Energy Business Network, which is
composed of 21 countries from the Asia-Pacific region. In 2000, she
was unanimously elected as President of this Network for two
consecutive periods.
The results achieved by Angélica support her reputation as
strategist and leader. Her achievements have been reported by the
press, they call her “The Natural Gas Queen”, “The Business Woman
Tamer” and recently the magazine “Altonivel” considered her as “Alfa
Women” because of her remarkable development in the soccer sector.
Angélica has always been proud of being born in Ciudad Juárez,
Chihuahua, and of being a woman. As such, she has been able to work
for the empowerment of latin American women. Therefore, in 2008, she
launched the prestigious line of beauty products Angelíssima, which
includes her philosophy of women’s self-empowerment. On September
2011, Angélica was given an award as innovator and distinguished
leader by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), for her work
to empower women and her innovative brand Angelíssima.
Angélica has a Finance Degree, granted by the University of Texas.
She shares her knowledge and experience with women through several
programs, for example: 1) the Omnilife training program CLAVE,
focused on the Omnilife entrepreneurs’ businesses; 2) as
co-chairwoman of the American Business Council, she supports the
young people, who are leaders and make changes in their communities.
Angélica spends much of her time and effort to projects that allow
her to perform her social responsibilities, for instance Educare,
Fundación Ponte Viva (organization which protects women living in
Ciudad Juárez), Plan Estratégico de Juárez (organization which seeks
to improve the image, culture, and social and economic conditions of
Ciudad Juárez), and Fundación Comunitaria Frontera Norte. Angélica
is also a member of the Board of the Tecnológico de Monterrey,
Campus Ciudad Juárez, and a member of the organization Fundación del
Empresariado Chihuahuense.
